Ancient Trails, Ancient Tales: The Archaeology of the southern Driftless Region

Saturday, August 10, 2024 (10:00 AM - 12:00 PM) (CDT)

Description

You are invited to join us on Saturday, August 10th, at 10 am when State Archaeologist Amy Rosebrough will present a very special talk at the park amphitheater.

Entitled "Ancient Trails, Ancient Tales: The Archaeology of the southern Driftless Region", this walk and talk will provide a sweeping overview of the last 14,000 years of human history in southern Wisconsin. From mammoths to dugout canoes, rock art to clamshells, Wisconsin's archaeological sites have much to tell us about the past.

The 10 am talk is open to all, but the walk which will follow is limited to 20 participants and available by reservation only. As a special perk and thank you, we are holding the first 10 spots for Friends members. If you'd like to join Dr. Rosebrough for the second part of her presentation, please rsvp to Friends President Jean Warrior at govdodgehorses@gmail.com or by phone to 608-70-3961 to hold your space.

Hope to see many of you at this event.
