Description

Join us for a joyful day of Finnish music and dance with Lauluaika, a Twin Cities-based folk band dedicated to preserving Finnish and Finnish American cultural traditions. Whether you're a musician, a dancer, or just curious, this event has something for everyone! The day begins with a music workshop and jam from 11:00 a.m. to 12:30 p.m., followed by a lunch break from 12:30 to 1:30 p.m. (bring your own or pack a picnic). A special session is planned from 1:30 to 3:30 p.m. (details to be announced), then we’ll move into a dance workshop from 3:30 to 5:30 p.m. At 6:00 p.m., we’ll gather for a potluck dinner—please bring a dish to share—followed by an evening dance at 7:15 p.m. featuring live music by Lauluaika. Learn Finnish tunes in the morning, explore traditional dances in the afternoon, and celebrate together in the evening. All skill levels are welcome!
