We Remember the Earth: Celebrate Earth Day with a Story and Art

Tuesday, April 21, 2026 (9:30 AM - 12:30 PM) (CDT)

Description

Celebrate Earth Day at Merrimac & Main with We Remember the Earth, a meaningful gathering of art, storytelling, and connection to the Driftless landscape we call home. The morning begins with a hands-on art session from 9:30–11:00 AM, where participants will explore natural object printmaking using leaves, fruit, and other found materials to create unique tote bags. This portion of the event will take place on the first floor in the Fellowship Hall. All supplies are provided free for seniors, with a $5 suggested donation for non-seniors. From 11:30 AM–12:30 PM, experience the power of storytelling with local speaker Cecilia Farran in the church sanctuary. Rooted in her rural Wisconsin upbringing and life along the Wisconsin River, Cecilia shares stories of wonder, play, and deep connection to the land—inviting listeners to rediscover their own meaningful memories and sense of place. Merrimac & Main is located within the Plymouth United Church of Christ. Guests should enter through the glass doors on the Main Street side of the building. Join us for a warm, creative Earth Day celebration that brings community, nature, and storytelling together.
